Forest Hills Biergarten Opens for the Season

Summer is right around the corner, which means it is time to enjoy warm weather and cold drinks outdoors.

While there are outdoor options all over New York, Forest Hills residents have access to Cobblestones Pub, which boasts a new backyard biergarten. The neighborhood bar, which has been around since 1985, updated their look and opened the outdoor space last summer.

Upon entering the back patio from 78th Ave, off of Queens Blvd., patrons are met with shaded picnic bench seating and a covered bar with about 125 to 150 seats. The space also features cornhole, giant Jenga and flat-screen televisions for the sports enthusiasts.

The décor also makes guests feel as if they are in a German fairytale. The brick walls are painted with rolling green hills, cottages, rivers and bridges. Around the picnic tables are planters with flowers and greenery. There is also a fun water fountain made of mosaic tiles, dubbing the space the “Forest Hills Biegarten,” which pours water from assorted, repurposed beer tap handles.

The biergarten’s menu includes various beers, many of which are German style, and a handful of cocktails. The food menu is also well-rounded, with something for everyone. Hits include the Giant Bavarian Pretzel, ½ Pound Burgers, and Build-Your-Own Wraps. Additionally, happy hour is Monday-Friday, from 4-7pm, and the specials include $5 drinks and select appetizers.

As the days continue to grow longer, grab your sunglasses and some friends and head down to Cobblestones Pub and Biergarten.
