Joining a local running group is a great way to take your fitness to the next level and meet people in the community who share your interests.
In Queens, there is a great running club known as the Queens Distance Runners. The organization, founded in 2013, has over 700 members and continues to grow with friendly, diverse people of all running backgrounds.
The group welcomes everyone, from the recreational jogger to the experienced competitor.
If you join a running club, you'll not only meet a ton of new people, but you'll be getting out there and enjoying the community and sights around Forest Hills.
With the Queens Distance Runners, there's something for every skill level from walker to marathoner.
Want to check out the group? On February 16th, the community is invited to participate in the “For The Love of Queens” 5K and Relay held in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Rain or shine, the run begins at 9am. And if you have children, there is a Kids of Queens Mile fun run at 10:30am. Sign up here.
