Tianyu Lights Festival at Citi Field

New York City is known for its many lights shows, from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to the Bronx Zoo, and now there's a new one for the list: The Tianyu Lights Festival.

Inspired by Chinese lantern making, this light festival utilizes modern technology to create sculptures that tell the story of a seven-year-old boy named Koda, who has returned from journeying to the Amazon rainforest. As you walk through the light show you’ll follow along on Koda’s adventure, passing by plants and animals that he encountered in the rainforest, while listening to live performances of Chinese plucked string instruments. Plus, you can uncover clues and win prizes by piecing together Koda’s dreams.

Located right off the 7 train, this light show is perfect for the whole family, or for a date night out. Don’t forget to stop by the “Magical Forest Marketplace” to grab some merchandise, including light-up paintings, panda-themed gifts, and more.

The light festival is running until January 19th. Tickets can be purchased online for specific dates and times, but there are also walk-up tickets available on-site. Parking fees and food inside the attraction are not included in the ticket price. For more information, click here.
