CURRENT RESIDENT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS AT BEAM LIVING PROPERTIES

Beam Living is committed to granting reasonable accommodations to its rules, policies, practices or services where such accommodations enable people with disabilities the equal opportunity to use and enjoy their dwellings as required by federal, state and local law. A reasonable accommodation may include an exception to a rule or policy or physical change to a unit or common area. A disability-related reasonable accommodation exists when there is an identifiable relationship, or nexus, between the requested accommodation and the individual’s disability.

Reasonable Accommodation Requests

Beam Living accepts reasonable accommodation requests from persons with disabilities and those acting on their behalf. Individuals who would like to request a reasonable accommodation may use, but are not required to use, our “Application for Reasonable Accommodation” Form. The Reasonable Accommodation Application Forms is linked above and is also available in the management office.

Beam Living may require that a reasonable accommodation request is supported by a letter from a healthcare professional.

We carefully evaluate each request on an individual basis, ensuring a thorough consideration of all necessary documentation before reaching a decision. Given the unique nature and intricacies of each request, we cannot guarantee a specific response time. However, if your request is time-sensitive, please inform us, and we will prioritize it to expedite our decision-making process. You will receive prompt written notification via letter and/or email, informing you of whether your request has been approved or denied.

If you believe your request for a reasonable accommodation was unreasonably delayed, denied unlawfully, or that you have otherwise been discriminated against on the basis of a disability, then you may file a complaint by writing or calling the appropriate city, state or federal human rights agency. The phone number of the New York City Human Rights Commission is 311 or 718.722.3131.
